Lailat-tul-Qadar - The Night of Power

Lailat ul-Qadr' or 'Night of Power'… a very important occasion in the history of Islam and in our personnel lives.

Allah swt says in the Qur'an in Surah Al-Qadr.

"Truly We sent it down on the Night of Power. And what will convey to you what the Night of Power is? The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. In it the angels and the Ruh descend by their Lord's authority with every ordinance. It is Peace –until the coming of the dawn."
[Surah 97: Verses 1-5]
"Ha. Mim. By the book that makes things clear. We sent it down during a blessed night. For We (ever) wish to warn (against evil). In that (night) is made distinct every affair of wisdom, by command, from Our Presence. For We (ever) send (revelations), as a mercy from Thy Lord: for He hears and knows (all things)."
[Surah 44: Verses 1-6]
"Ramadan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (signs) for guidance and judgment (between right and wrong)."
[Surah 2 : Verse 185]

It was narrated that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam - صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:

"Whoever established prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven; and whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven."
[Sahih Al-Bukhari]

It has also been reported by Hazrat Aisha (Radi Allahu ' Anha - رضي الله ٰعنها), the wife of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam - صلى الله عليه وسلم) who said:

"I asked the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam - صلى الله عليه وسلم) if I knew which night was the Night of Power and what Prayer I should say during that night?"
He (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam - صلى الله عليه وسلم) said to me: Say: "O Allah! You are forgiving and you love forgiveness, so you too forgive me.
